Karina uses a hand dying technique called shibori to dye this little black cotton dress. The fractal pattern resembles layers of black and beige sandstone.

Study I - Rock Collection Each season I chose a subject of study which serves as my pattern for visual inspiration. This first Geologic study is a curated rock collection translated into wearable art pieces. Many designs are limited edition series signed and numbered to prove authenticity. The series draws from the texture, color and inspiration from minerals, stones and geologic structures. Some of these pieces (or specimens) strive to be visual replicas of these rocks while some are simple interpretations of their aesthetic qualities.
