by Andrew Riggins

By removing the top layer of skin and opening the body to viewing, Andrew Riggins challenges socially redundant projections of the human form through exposure to the features and systems that truly make life possible. Popular culture tends to shy away from an everyday exposure to and even common knowledge of these elements, yet they are the mechanics of the human condition. From anatomy sources to nostalgic or forgotten images of popular culture Andrew Riggins isolates and then reconstructs scenes that invoke fading moral blueprints of a puritanical American past suffocated by the serpent of modernity.
