Amy Borrell Print 2, The 64 Moons of Jupiter

by Amy Borrell

Please welcome Amy Borrell to the Fall Collection of Little Paper Planes’s large format prints, The Big Exclusives.

We wanted to offer diverse prints as a curated collection so that each work is its own entity as well as creating a dialogue with one of the other pieces.  We worked with each artist to choose both a color and black and white piece.  This grouping of work contains undertones of cataloging or classifying natural objects, whether it is literally creating an order of a collection or attempting to capture a time that ceases to exist.  Among a hybrid of reality and imagination, these works act as a stage of discovery or preserving a moment as a way to remember.  The markings of an artist dictate actions of living by creating codes with shapes and patterns encapsulating new possibilities within our natural world.

These are large format  36 x 36" prints that are more "poster like" and are offered individually. They are printed with a Black and White Laser printer in halftone on 20lb. Matte paper. (20lb paper is thin and Laser prints have a photocopy feel.) This kind of printing is often used for architectural and engineering prints so they are a lo-fi aesthetic. Halftone printing is similar in how newspapers are produced.  When looking closely, they appear to be more dot like though when looking from afar is when you see the image.  These pieces are meant to be viewed that way, not up close.

This print is shipped in a mailing tube.

Each print comes in an edition of 50, all hand numbered with a printed signature of the artist under the image.
