Summer Lovin' Product Look Book
Welcome to our first LPP Lookbook on the new site! I was brainstorming weeks prior, thinking about what would be the first theme. It was pretty clear that summer was the only choice. Summer encapsulates carefree moments, relaxation, forgetting all responsibilities, traveling to new places, jumping into lakes and oceans, staring longingly into a lover's eyes and above all, a time to take a deep breath and reflect.
2010 and 2011 has been an intense time for LPP. There has been extensive change and constantly evolving. We have been printing, publishing, curating, licensing, lecturing, internet-ting, meeting new artists and planning for a new future under the LPP entity. We are going on our 8th year as a place to connect art with art lovers... read more
Summer Lovin' Product Look Book
xWelcome to our first LPP Lookbook on the new site!
We are going on our 8th year as a place to connect art with art lovers and artists alike. We are an international community. As I reflect on the past year, I am overwhelmed by the support and love from the this community and so excited to push the boundaries and continue to support artists. Though now as we approach summer, I am ready to think about what has happened and what will be our future, while lying in some grass letting butterflies touch my toes and take that deep breath. Summer for me, is time to slow down, even if its for a little bit.
The collection of work I choose from the LPP shop, are pieces that speak about those moments of summer I am looking forward to. I added one of my pieces, the West Print as a reminder that road trips are always important. Being on the open road with endless possibilities. That image is a collage of photos I took on the 5 and 101 freeways between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Both Kay van Bellen's and Nathalie Roland also speak to the importance of packing up and traveling to somewhere new. Though sometimes its nice to stay close to home and just be still like this painting by Leah Giberson or hanging out in the pool, doesn't this image by Raven & Lamb entice you to want to dive right in?? Gardens and plant life are always perfect to tend to like Brainstorm's Roses, Renee Garner's array of seasonal fruits and veggies. For those of you in apartments you can make terrariums like Hillary Bird's piece which can be just as satisfying! William Edmonds image says it all, there is nothing I can add except RADICAL. The magic of Aaron Farley, Kim Winderman, and Debbie Carlos' pieces remind me of dreams that can become realities. They highlight the mystery in the world. For you ladies, be easy, breezy, cool in this super soft sunset shirt by No Star, and all you guys can start playing some music this summer for your special someone in this shirt by Tender Loving Empire. Though all in all, lets just have a cool summer like this lovely illustration Maggie Louden made.
Each product will be accompanied by a song that reflects my ideas about what summer means for me and hopefully you too will enjoy!
