California Dreaming

Last month my boyfriend and I went on a mini camping trip north of Oakland.  Sometimes I forget how amazing California is during the daily grind of working online and being in a studio all day, everyday.  Having a quick escape without internet and just being within the beauty of the West Coast was exactly what I needed.  We traveled to Salt Point where I fell in love immediately.  Knowing that many of our state parks might close is such a shame, since everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy what nature has to offer.

With this lookbook, I am picking work from the LPP shop that reminds me of that magical camping weekend.

Sleeping under the stars is something I want to do always, but with Maia Akia's Print 2 is a good compromise!  Of course we had to use our Google Maps to find Salt Pointe, but I rather just look at Brainstorm's West Print instead!  We did see lots of poppies, however no California quails were present, but at least we have this sweet letterpress print, California by Dutch Door Press.  In the forests there were tons of tree stumps which reminded me of Animalsleep's Tree Stump Convention Print.  While hiking the sun kept poking through the trees like Kim Winderman's Duskwalks Photograph.  Its incredible thinking how many lives these redwood trees have seen.  David Shillinglaw's Tree Finger Print highlights those rings of life.  Of course the west coast's sunsets are spectacular, although all sunsets are special like those featured in Cafe Royal Book's Memorable Sunsets Zine.  While staring at the sunsets I am reminded we are all connected here in this world like Michael Perry's It is a Circular Universe Zine.  As we drove back down the coast with the sun shining bright and the wind blowing through my hands, all I could think of was I got California Love which you can showcase that on your wall with Ashkahn's print!
