Eric Trine is a studio based maker of things. The things he makes vary in degree of application from abstract sculpture to accessible modern furniture design, and a lot of stuff in between. An introvert by nature, and an extrovert through social media, Trine toes the line between a socially engaged art practice and social entrepreneurship, where an active relationship with his audience is crucial to the sustainability of his work. He recently completed his MFA in Applied Craft and Design through a joint program with Pacific Northwest College of Art and Oregon College of Art and Craft, where he developed a furniture collection and studied the intersection of craft and instagram, seriously. He prefers estate sales to museums, greenhouses over galleries, cats over dogs, and would prefer to start each day in the water surfing.
