Ryan Trecartin
Ryan Trecartin (b. 1981) is an artist and filmmaker currently based in Los Angeles. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, graduating with a BFA in 2004. His work has been exhibited at The New Museum, New York; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; P.S. 1, New York; Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, OH; the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the 2006 Whitney Biennial, and the Eighth Gwangju Biennale. In 2009 Trecartin was the recipient of the first Jack Wolgin Fine Art Prize, presented by the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Philadelphia. In 2009 he received the Calvin Klein Collection New Artist of the Year Award at the First Annual Art Awards, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York.
