Chiaki Mori
Chiaki Mori is a freelance illustrator based in Yokohama in Japan. She studied Illustration at Parsons, the New School for Design in NYC. Since university, she has shown her remarkable talent in her artwork and her cityscape illustration of China Town NYC was selected to appear on the campus brochure for 2002 autumn.
After her graduation in 2002, Chiaki’s artworks have fascinated readers of numerous magazines, books and websites. In recent years, her stylish illustrations have captured hearts of fashion-conscious women and have entranced especially the readers of ELLE ONLINE magazine in Japan for over one and a half years.
Chiaki’s talent has gone beyond illustration and she has been active in a wide range of artistic fields such as book art, window display and essay writing. In November 2010, she received the first prize for JDN Calendar Design Award from Japan Design Net in Tokyo for her uniquely designed book art. In December 2011, she published her first essay with her illustration about “The Pillow Book” written by Seishounagon, one of the most famous Japanese classical essays, from Marbletron Inc. in Japan.
